Hand Sewing For Children. Age 5+
|
This is a really fun workshop teaching children how to sew in a creative and nurturing environment. The children will learn some of the fundamentals of hand sewing as they make their own special project. They will love choosing fabrics, threads, buttons, ribbons and other goodies being used.
Maximum of 6 students.

Introduction to Machine Sewing ages 8+
|
This is a wonderful 3 hour workshop for kids that are new to machine sewing. It covers the fundamentals of machine sewing such as: parts of the sewing machine, threading your machine, winding a bobbin, sewing straight lines, turning corners and sewing a seam. It is project based with the kids taking home there very own tissue pouch

Sew a crazy critter
Age 8+
|
Children can use their imagination to create these super groovy and crazy critters. Including both had sewing and machine sewing the children will learn basic sewing skills as well as having lots of fun.

Sew a Scrappy Peg Board
ages 8+
|
Create your very own fabric using fabric scraps, ribbons, buttons and trims. This workshops involves both hand and machine sewing and is a great project for children new to sewing. Children can be as creative as they like as well as using the sewing machine is a fun and unstructured manner.

Sew a Zip Purse/Pencil Case Age 12 +

This is a fabulous workshop where students have fun designing and embellishing their very own, fully lined purse or pencil case. Have fun decorating your purse with ribbons, buttons and shapes, as well as practically learning how to use a zipper foot and sew a zipper.

Learn how to Sew with Stretch Fabric Age 12 +

This five hour workshops teaches many of the fundamentals of sewing with knit fabrics. The students will use a commercial pattern to make a knit top. This workshop covers areas such as fitting, hems and bindings.

1.6 metres (if 115cm wide)
0.8m (if 150cm wide) of knit fabric (tshirt) weight. Thread to match.

Make a skirt Age 12+

This fun workshop uses a block burda skirt pattern with several variations. The first morning students will determine their size, skirt variation and draft a skirt pattern for themselves. Students will also make a calico mock skirt. They will need to come the next day with their final skirt fabric. It is a fabulous course for beginners pattern drafting, pattern alterations and general sewing skills.
